Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha, the largest in its kind, was formed in the year 1907 with the sole objective of bringing a socio-cultural- rebirth in the state of Kerala. The cause being so noble and its accomplishments so great, it was natural that the organization attained a prominent place in the pages of Kerala history.
The Peringottukara Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha, which came into existence in 1916, initially was knowing the name of The Keraleeya Bhoosuranumodi Sabha. In the same year The sabha became a part of the Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha. The PNY Sabha sternly and firmly fought against all social evils, prevalent at that time in our country, like caste discrimination, undesirable practices and superstition . At the same time it ardently endeavored to instill spiritual growth in the masses. However, the task demanded a lot of funds which paved the way for mobilizing resource by introducing several small saving schemes and chitties. The support extended by the Well- wishers brought financial stability, many volunteered with donations. Thus, from the inception PNY Sabha could initiate various projects to help the needy and the downtrodden regardless of caste and creed.
Since then, the PNY Sabha became popularly known as ‘Namboothiri Bank’ After the introduction of the Kerala chitty Act the PNY Sabha got necessary registration for conducting chitty business and reinvented chitty business.

The PNY Sabha management could read on the walls that in view of the changing laws from time to time, a charitable organization like this one will have to encounter a lot of practical constraints while conducting commercial activity. In order to overcome this hurdle, it purchased a public limited company and continued its activity with more vigor and purpose..
The by-laws of the PNY Sabha got further modified during 2006. Before 2006 elections were conducted each year to appoint the governing body. This now stands modified to 5 years tenure for once elected.
In order to provide legality to the new business ventures, from 2007onwards all the branches of the PNY Sabha were converted to become the branches of M/s. PNY Sabha Finance Ltd., a company under the full control of the PNY Sabha.
These branches serve as the collection centers for the PNY Sabha. For the welfare of its employees, the company started implementing the service and wages rules in an established manner decades back. The PNY Sabha enjoys the rare distinction that it may be the only private company in the financial sector where a lot of employees had worked and retired contentedly from the service.
During 2015 Sabha commenced celebrating 100th year of inception by having program all through the year in a befitting manner.
But for the dedication of its founder members’ and leaders, with the patronage of thousands of satisfied customers, the PNY Sabha would not have reached this enviable position. The PNY Sabha also gratefully acknowledge the sincere service rendered by its employees. PNY Sabha is fully conscious of the respect the namboodiri community enjoys in the society. Precisely hence, it exercises sufficient caution while doing business, so that any of its action would bring any disregard or disrespect to the community.
