About Us

Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha, the one and only of its stature, was formed in the year 1907 with the sole objective of bringing a social cultural rebirth in the state of Kerala. The vision and Mission of the sabha being so gallant and upright, this organization already attained a prominent identity in the history of Kerala.

The Peringottukara Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha, which came into existence in 1916, initially was knowing the name of The Keraleeya Bhoosuranumodi Sabha. In the same year The sabha became a part of the Namboothiri Yogakshema Sabha. The PNY Sabha sternly and firmly fought against all social evils, prevalent at that time in our country, like caste discrimination, undesirable practices and superstition . At the same time it ardently endeavored to instill spiritual growth in the masses. However, the task demanded a lot of funds which paved the way for mobilizing resource by introducing several small saving schemes and chitties. The support extended by the Well- wishers brought financial stability, many volunteered with donations. Thus, from the inception PNY Sabha could initiate various projects to help the needy and the downtrodden regardless of caste and creed.

Since then, the PNY Sabha became popularly known as ‘Namboothiri Bank’ After the introduction of the Kerala chitty Act the PNY Sabha got necessary registration for conducting chitty business and reinvented chitty business.
